The Richard Nickel Comparative Photography Exhibit
DETAILS COMING SOON

Richard Nickel is a photographic genius that has fascinated Ana for years (ever since she heard a story about him on NPR and immediately googled him). He was from and spent his life in Chicago, photographing and salvaging architectural detail and other prodigiously composed images.

This exhibit will compare a selection of fine art photographs from the collections of the legendary Richard Nickel and Ana Rusness-Petersen, looking at composition, story, subject matter and more. Somewhat similar in nature, but also each with their own distinctive voice, these photographers have developed collections that tell stories of historic architecture, urban life, artistic detail, and how they as artists fit into the dialog.

This is a years-in-the-making project that will continue to develop, with included images, stories behind the images, a brief biography of Richard Nickel, and a potential exhibit schedule coming soon!
